All share index gained marginally by 1.70 points to close at 1639.76 but Milanka price index lost 8.98 points to close at 1727.22. Turnover was Rs 116.9 million boosted by heavy trading in Lanka Cement & Commercial Bank.

Lanka Cement closed Rs 1.50 higher at Rs 12.50.

Central Bank is now looking for strategic investor who can inject fresh capital to the Seyan bank. With this option holdings of existing ordinary share holders will be diluted. This will be bad news for current share holders of the bank.

Investors should buy stocks with strong financial & management background such as NDB, DFCC, Commercial Bank & Colombo Dockyard & refrain from speculative trading in this uncertain economic environment.
