Colombo ASI closed 7.26 points higher at 1683.44 while MPI ended the day 12.22 higher at 1769.37. However turnover was low at RS 27.7 million.

Dialog Telekom was the only significant trade reported during the day with 2,093,000 shares traded & closed flat at Rs4.90. Ceylinco insurance (Nonvoting) gained 12 rupees to close at 84.25.Commercial Bank of Ceylon Plc closed Rs 2.75 higher at Rs 79.75.

Highly illiquid The Good Hope Plc lost Rs 15.00 to close at Rs 120.00.
