With lots of rumors spreading in political front, Colombo Stocks are on the upward direction. ASI gained 51.85 points to close at 2979.41 while MPI was up by 82 points to close at 3395.92. Today’s total equity turnover was Rs 576.4 million.
Gains were seen on almost all the sectors. Lanka Ashok Leyland was up by 100.75 to close at Rs 805 while The Bukit Dahara Plc closed the day at Rs 1600.00 up Rs 50.00.
Colombo Pharmacy Company Plc another illiquid counter closed Rs 24.75 higher at Rs 300.00. Alliance Finance Company was up by 19.75 to close at Rs 400.00. Nestle Lanka Plc closed at Rs 420.00, up fifteen rupees. Sri Lanka’s leading listed cement manufacturer Tokyo Cement Company (Lank) Plc closed at Rs 235.00, Rs 15.25.
John Keells Holdings Plc gained four rupees to end the day at Rs 145.00. Colombo Dockyard closed the day Rs 10.75 higher at Rs 185.00.
Market outlook will be positive for next week. Most of listed Banks stared to release positive quarterly results. Hotel sector is also worth to consider.
