CSE Market Summary – Friday 20th November 2009.
It is looks like Mr Rajarathnam’s factor still affecting the Colombo market. Investors are speculating he is going to sell off his holding in Colombo Market. ASI fell 27.43 points to end the day at 2933.34 while Milanka index fell 27.88 points to close at 3333.56. Turnover was 580.8 million rupees.
Commercial Bank of Ceylon (COMB) accounted Rs 251.2 million for the total market turnover by trading 1,435,200 shares. COMB closed 25 cents lower at Rs 175.25.
Index heavy Dialog Telekom lost 25 cents to close at Rs 7.00 while fixed wire line telecom service provider Sri Lanka Telecom Plc lost one rupee to close at Rs 41.25. Lanka Ashok Leyland was down by Rs 150.00 to close at 1300.00. Ceylon Tobacco closed at Rs 170.25, down Rs 9.75.
John Keells Holdings closed the day unchanged at Rs 143.00. Central Industries was up by Rs 14.25 to close at Rs 154.50.
Foreigners bought Rs 148.6 million worth of stocks & sold stocks valued Rs 363.3, resulting net outflow.
Although secondary market on downward path, investors were busy with subscribing Renuka Agri Food IPO.
