Colombo All Share Index (ASI) was up by 2.57% (73.32 points) to close at 2927.56 while Milanka Price Index (MPI) gained 2.95% (95.04 points) to end the day at 3313.92. Turnover was 283.5 million rupees.

Diversified Blue Chip Aitken Spence Plc closed the day Rs 32.75 higher at Rs 890. Lanka Ashok Laylend Plc continues grow & closed Rs 105.25 higher at Rs 704.25.

Sri Lanka’s two leading Telecom companies, namely Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) & Dialog Telekom reported gains today. SLT closed the day at 43.75, up Rs 2.50 while Dialog closed at Rs 7.25, up 50 cents. John Keells Holdings was up by four rupees to close at Rs 141.00.

Leading liquor producer Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka Plc was up by 3.50 to end the day at Rs 93.50. Chevron Lubricant Lanka Plc gained further Rs 8.75 to close at Rs 196.75.

In banking sector, National Development Bank was up by 5.50 to close at Rs 178.50 while Development Finance Corporation (DFCC) gained five rupees to close the day at Rs 145.00. Commercial Bank of Ceylon Plc closed at Rs 174.50, up Rs 5.50.

Foreigners bought Rs 28.5 million worth of stocks & sold stocks valued at Rs 34.4 million.
