Sri Lanka Stocks closed unchanged while other Asian Markets closed higher.

Monday Colombo Indices started positively but closed with almost flat results. ASI closed at 2979.21 (-0.20) while MPI closed at 3394.08 (-1.84). Turnover was 589 million rupees.

Again Lanka Ashok Leyland Plc was the highest gainer with Rs 226.25 gain & closed at Rs 1031.25. Carsons Cumberbatch Plc was up by 9.50 to close at Rs 332.00 while its subsidiary The Bukit Dahara Plc closed the day Rs 100.00 higher at Rs 1700.00.

Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka (DCSL) released their six months financial results for the six monts ended 30th September 2009. DCSL Groups net profit fell 48.83% to 1.15 billion rupees. Distilleries closed the day 25 cents lower at Rs 95.00. Few months back DCSL lost their control over Sri Lanka’s largest Insurance Company, SLIC on Supreme Court ruling.

Commercial Bank of Ceylon Plc lost 2.25 to close at Rs 175.75 while National Development Bank closed unchanged at Rs 180.00. John Keells Holdings Plc lost 1.75 to end the day at Rs 143.25.
