Sri Lanka Stocks closes on a mixed note.

On Tuesday’s trading All Share Index closed at 2983.25, up 4.04 points but MPI went opposite direction & closed 13.60 points lower at 3380.48. Turnover was Rs 958.1 million, mainly boosted by large parcels of Commercial Bank of Ceylon Plc (COMB). COMB alone contributed Rs 620 million towards total equity turnover.

Illiquid stocks made huge gains today. Lanka Ashok Leyland Plc was up by Rs 468.75 to close at Rs 1500.00. Hunters & Co Ltd gained 89.75 to close at Rs 320.00 while The Bukit Darah Plc closed at Rs 1775.00, up 75 rupees.

Renuka Holdings Plc closed at 111.25, up 15.00 rupees while Renuka City Hotel Plc closed 8.25 higher at Rs 180.00. Nestle Lanka Plc was up by nine rupees to close at Rs 410.00. Chevron Lubricant Lanka the unit of Chevron Texaco USA closed at Rs 207.75, up Rs 7.50.

Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka Plc, the leading alcohol producer lost 3.25 to close at Rs 91.75. Dialog Telekom was down by 25 cents to close at Rs 7.25 while fixed wire line Telecom service provider Sri Lanka Telecom Plc closed flat at Rs 43.00.

Foreigners were net sellers with Rs 335.1 million purchases & Rs 717 million sales.
