Online Stock Trading in Sri Lanka.

Online stock trading is not a new thing in Sri Lanka. I have been using it since year 2003. For me the main advantage of internet trading is I don’t have to call my broker to buy or sell shares. Sometimes brokers may extremely busy with telephone calls from clients, he or she has to deal with large number of customers during the trading hours.
For example imagine a day of highly oversubscribed IPO start first time trading in secondary market & you want to sell it on the first day. The first day that particular stock going too high then you calls your broker but you can’t contact your broker as all his telephone lines are too busy. Then that stocks starts to decline in few hour. So how do you feel now?
You can avoid this if you have online stock trading account. I myself faced for a situation which I described above.
What are the requirements to have online Stock Trading Facility?
· A CDS account with an online trading supported broker.
· A computer with an internet connection (Preferably a Broadband Internet connection).
· The trading software that recommended & supported by your broker.

CDAX not been used because its a good software but its been used because there is no other software available,
CDAX is not only software use by Sri Lankan Stock brokers to give Online Trading facility for their clients.
For example Taprobane Securities use this web based application…

CDAX is the best software i have come up with. Though the research data within the software is not much, it is the fastest of all. the new trading platform DirectFN is also slower than CDAX.
And other than those 2, there are several web applications (browser based trading platforms) are available for online trading.
Asha phillip is a cool brokerage except their software solution package for Online Trading.

Best Solution is Directfn system……… so much of features and stable.. CDAX is slow and lack of features such as charting,porpolia management,reporting ….
Asia Securities/Asha/DNH currently using DirectFN solutions.
Thse are the TradeWeb Solutions.
But they have Client versions with rich features.These all are enabales for every users in below brokerages.

CDAX & other sites (Bloomburg, SLstockcharts) having different histograms for the same stock. How come that happen? How to find the true one?

I am using Bloomberg. This problem may arise due to non update on share splits etc…

cdax is simple and effective software. and you don't need broadband , i'm using w200 phone to connect to internet.
